Tonight my mom and I decided to stop at a near by farmers market to get some things for dinner. The first vendor we stumbled upon surprisingly had nothing to do with food! This amazing soulful couple was selling beautiful bags, accessories, hammocks, and blankets handmade by the indigenous people of La Guajira, Venezela-Columbia. It was so fascinating to learn that each unique cotton bag represented the symbolism and traditions of their culture. My mom bought a large bag made with soothing autumn tones along with a missoni inspired hammock and pillow while I purchased a small bag with a dark rastifarian feel.
